10 Asian Diet Recipes For Weight Loss
1. Asian Cucumber Salad Recipe
I’ll start off the list with one of my favorites. Not only is this Asian cucumber salad recipe incredibly delicious, it’s also very easy and takes only 5 minutes to prepare. It’s also a very versatile dish: You can serve it as an appetizer, side dish, or even as a main dish! This Asian cucumber salad recipe is low-carb and is a very effective weight loss dish that you can eat often.
When making this dish, it’s important to strike a balance between the amount of vinegar and soy sauce that you use. I find that using equal amounts of vinegar and soy sauce tends to work best, and gives the dish a balanced mix of flavors. Try it yourself and see what works for you!
Using garlic in this dish is optional, but I strongly recommend it to give the dish a better flavor (garlic is an effective weight loss food in its own right and has many other health benefits too).
Ingredients:
- 1-2 cucumbers, diced
- 1 tablespoon brown rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
In a bowl, simply mix the cucumber, vinegar, garlic and soy sauce together and toss well. Add salt to taste, and serve. (See? Told you it was easy!)
2. Healthy Chicken Celery Stir-Fry Recipe
Another of my favorite recipes, chicken and celery are both wonderful healthy weight loss foods. Stir-frying is the most basic and common method used in Asian cooking. This Asian chicken celery stir-fry recipe is a popular Chinese dish, and tastes absolutely fantastic. It’s incredibly simple to make too, so give it a try!
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces chicken breast meat, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, cut into 1-inch strips
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
Marinate the chicken in the wine and soy sauce for 15 minutes. In a wok or frying pan, add 1 tablespoon oil and heat it up until it smokes slightly. Add the chicken and stir-fry until it is no longer pink (about 30 seconds). Dish out and heat the wok up again with 1 tablespoon oil. Add the celery and stir-fry until the celery becomes slightly soft (about a minute). Add back the chicken and stir-fry for another minute or two (until everything is fully cooked). Add salt to taste, and serve.
3. Healthy Asian Broccoli Salad Recipe
Most of the calories from salad comes from the dressing. The Asian version of broccoli salad takes a low-calorie approach by using no dressing (while staying big on taste), and can be served as both an appetizer and as a main dish.
It’s no secret that broccoli is one of the healthiest foods out there, and not just for weight loss either. Broccoli is a rich source of fiber, vitamins and minerals (especially vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin K) and has practically zero calories. In addition to helping lower cholesterol levels, it has also been shown to be able to prevent cancer. From a Chinese perspective, broccoli is classified as having the property of being “slightly cool,” which makes it great to eat during the summer and fall seasons, or even all year long.
If you don’t enjoy eating broccoli, it’s because you’ve never had a broccoli dish that was properly cooked. The secret to cooking great broccoli isn’t to steam it or boil it, nor is it to add high-calorie foods like cheese and bacon. All you need is some garlic and salt to bring out its natural flavor. Try this healthy Asian broccoli salad recipe and enjoy all its health benefits as well as its great taste.
Healthy Asian Broccoli Salad Recipe:
Ingredients:
– 1 broccoli, cut into florets
– A few drops of cooking oil (optional)
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 teaspoons salt
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Directions:
Bring a pot of water to a boil. To help the broccoli retain its green color, add a few drops of cooking oil. Add the broccoli florets and wait until they start to become soft (about 1-2 minutes), then remove from the pot immediately. Add the garlic and salt. Also add the sesame oil (optional but highly recommended to give the dish a zesty flavor). Toss to spread evenly, and serve.
4. Moo Goo Gai Pan Recipe
Moo Goo Gai Pan (蘑菇鸡片, literally: “Mushroom Chicken”) is one of the most popular chicken dishes in southern China. Among all chicken stir fry recipes (and easy Chinese recipes in general), moo goo gai pan definitely ranks among the top of the list of “easy healthy recipes.”
For this Chinese stir fry recipe, the chicken and mushrooms are not optional, but all the other vegetables are. However, the total amount of vegetables (including mushrooms) you use should not exceed the amount of chicken you use. The only difficult part about this stir fry recipe is making it so the vegetables all become fully cooked at the same time without overcooking anything. If unsure, cook them separately and mix them together at the end. If you are in need of easy chicken recipes for dinner, definitely give this a try. After learning how to make it successfully, I think you will agree it is one of the most simple recipes in Chinese cooking.
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken breast, cut into thin slices
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
- Any of the following vegetables, peeled and sliced (the total amount of vegetables you use, including mushrooms, should not exceed the amount of chicken you have): bamboo shoots, broccoli, carrots, snow peas, water chestnuts
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
Preparation:
In a large wok, heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil and add the vegetables in the following order: carrots, broccoli, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, snow peas, and stir-fry until they are almost fully cooked. Remove from the wok, and set aside. Heat the remaining oil in the wok and add the chicken. Stir-fry until it is no longer pink. Add the soy sauce and rice wine. Bring to a boil and let boil for about 1 minute, add the vegetables back to the wok, stir-fry for another minute, remove from heat and serve.
5. Healthy Chicken Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe
Chicken and cabbage are an amazing combination: two healthy foods come together to form a delectable dish that makes your taste buds tingle with delight! The health benefits of cabbage in helping weight loss have long been known. In Asian food, both chicken and cabbage are considered to be “balanced” foods, so you can’t really go wrong with either one. This Asian version of the classic chicken cabbage stir fry recipe is a balanced mix that is both mild and exciting at the same time.

Stir-fry for about a minute, then add back the chicken and 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and continue to stir-fry until both the chicken and cabbage become fully cooked (about a minute). Add salt to taste, and serve hot.
6. Tomato Egg Stir Fry Recipe
If you are looking for quick and easy Chinese food recipes to make at home, this Tomato Egg Stir Fry recipe is one of the easiest stir fry recipes in Chinese cooking. As soon as the eggs are cooked, dish out and set aside. Heat up the wok again with another tablespoon of cooking oil. Add the tomato wedges into the wok and stir-fry until the tomatoes become soft. Transfer the eggs into the tomatoes, add the soy sauce, salt, sugar and scallions, stir-fry for about 30 seconds, and serve.
7. Low Carb Chicken Cauliflower Stir-Fry
If there’s one thing Asians know how to cook right, it’s cauliflower. Cauliflower recently came into the spotlight as a superfood for its wonderful health benefits (including weight loss and being able to help prevent heart disease and cancer), but Asians have already known this for centuries. The Asian version of this low carb chicken cauliflower stir-fry recipe brings out its natural flavors by using just a few ingredients to enhance taste.
The key to making this recipe work is in how well you cook the cauliflowers. You need to cook it until it is almost falling apart, but not quite. This results in perfectly cooked cauliflower that virtually melts in your mouth, while still retaining its natural flavor.

Stir-fry for about a minute (or until it starts to become soft), then add back the chicken, and continue to stir-fry until the chicken and cauliflower become fully cooked (about a minute). Add salt to taste, and serve hot.
8. Beef With Oyster Sauce Recipe
Beef with Oyster Sauce is a classic Chinese beef stir fry recipe. It is a strongly-flavored dish, and among all beef stir fry recipes, is one of the easiest dishes to make. The total preparation time for Beef with Oyster Sauce will typically not take more than 30 minutes. For weight loss and those with high cholesterol, remember to use lean cuts of beef and trim off the fat.
Beef in Oyster Sauce Recipe

– 4 ounces lean beef flank, thinly sliced against the grain

Remove from heat and serve with rice.
9. Chinese Vegetables with Oyster Sauce
Ingredients:
-Chinese vegetables (such as choy sum)
-Oyster sauce
-A few drops cooking oil
Method:
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add a few drops of cooking oil. Put vegetables in and swirl around slowly until they turn slightly soft (but still remain crisp). Take out and drain off excess water. Lay out the vegetables on a plate. Pour oyster sauce directly on top, or serve it in a small dish separately.
10. Chinese Cabbage Stir-Fry Recipe
Chinese cabbage (also known as napa cabbage) is a classic vegetable in China and other Asian countries. There is an old Chinese saying: “Among a hundred vegetables, napa cabbage is king.” Chinese cabbage has long been known for its wondrous health benefits.
Chinese cabbage is used as an ingredient in many Chinese dishes, but the best and easiest way to cook Chinese cabbage is a simple stir-fry. On other recipe sites, I see lots of people who do it wrong: They use too many spices and other ingredients that conflict with the natural flavor of Chinese cabbage. Chinese cabbage has a naturally sweet flavor, and this should be brought out as much as possible by using minimal ingredients.

Add the chicken and stir-fry until it is no longer pink (about 30 seconds). Dish out and heat the wok up again with another 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the Chinese cabbage and stir-fry until it becomes slightly soft (about 30 seconds). Add back the chicken and stir-fry for another minute or two (until everything is fully cooked).
