1. Take Care of All Aspects of Your Health
In addition to the physical health of your body, your mental health is also extremely important. Remember to boost memory and cognitive function by regularly exercising your mind. There are some very simple ways to do this. For example, you can take a different route to work, or brush your teeth with your “other” hand. Build emotional and social health by strengthening your relationships and pursuing your passions. Do activities that are meaningful to you, or that help others. Avoid stress in your life by just focusing on what’s important.
2. How to Eat Healthy
“He that takes medicine and neglects diet, wastes the skills of the physician.” -Chinese proverb
A proper diet contains the right balance of carbohydrates, protein, fruits and vegetables, and fat. For carbohydrates, try eating whole grains instead of processed grains. Processed grains contain fewer nutrients. Lean meat is usually the best source of protein. A small amount of fat is necessary to keep your body functioning properly. Avoid processed food and junk food at all costs.
3. Daily Habits
The state of your health is often the result of your daily actions. What you do each day is extremely important! In addition to eating healthy and taking care of your mental and emotional health, make sure you drink 2-3 liters of water (or roughly eight 8-ounce glasses), get at least 30 minutes of exercise, and get a good night’s sleep each day.
